Just Curious . . .

For those girls of you who are married, just a quick question because I've noticed a strange trend among my girlfriends who are married.

Before you met/started dating your husband, did it seem like the only guys you ever went out with or showed any interest in you were strange? Like really strange? I had this experience in high school and college and I've been wondering how common it is.

I had a list of strange guys I met in high school and college, but decided not to post it. I don't want to scare my mother and I'm planning on using it all as material for a book one day.

So how 'bout it? Did you experience the strange dating scene or were you one of the popular girls who dated all the cute normal guys?
.....................................................................................................................

I feel the need to clarify or expound. I didn't want to list strange things the guys I know did, but apparently some of you think I'm talking about the normal weirdness. I'm not talking quirky. Nathan is kinda quirky, sure. He knits and remembers everything he reads and everything he hears (as long as it's academic, if it's me asking him to do something, then the likelihood of retention goes down drastically, but that's typical of guys). I'm talking the guy was kicked out of college because girls complained about him to such an extent that the dean had no choice. I'm talking the guy had swords on his wall and said he could carry them and chase you down. I'm talking the guy ended up being a child molester. I'm talking the guy was a total player. I'm talking the guy thought you were going to get married after y'all barely met. I'm talking the guy accuses you of liking his roommate just because he broke up with him and starts telling lies about you to your ward. I'm talking he writes really strange fiction (let's hope it was fiction and I just can't bring myself to actually type what kind of fiction it was because he was so freaky) and leaves you a love note in your band cubby. Like WEIRD! Not quirky.

I certainly wasn't a "popular" girl, and I never dated until college, and barely even then, but I think everyone's got a little bit of "strange" in them. I think most of the guys I dated were fairly normal (with the exception of the guy I briefly went out with right before meeting Ben). Honestly, Ben's the strangest one I ever dated, I think.

What does that say about me?

Yes, Micah, as a matter of fact. Since I only actually went out with one person in high school (mostly because I didn't know how to say no), you did know him. Nate P.'s little brother. He was the strangest of them all.

Janelle, I didn't date much at all either. I went on a couple dates with each guy, usually, and the list really isn't too long. Not compared with my friends' lists anyway. In college our apartment was known for our lack of guy interest. I agree that everyone has some weird or strange in them, but I mean out of the ordinary weird. Like the guy tells you he could run you down while he's carrying swords. Like, real swords. That kind of weird or strange. Or the kind where they've known you for 3 hours and they think they will marry you. Or the kind where you've never met them, but you name and email is on a list of people they could contact to learn more about what college life is like and they still think they are going to marry you. That kind of weird.

Oh Kellie - I have known Nathan since the 7th grade and honey, he is strange. Maybe not to you, but the difference is that you love him. I think the weird ones are the good ones. I'm sure Nathan would agree.

You are hilarious Kellie! I did date some weird-weird O's! I guess I should say I went on some dates with some weird ones. Not as many as you. What fun memories! I hope they are all written down for your kids to read someday! They will get a kick out of them! So will your grandkids! One of mine proposed before we even got to the location of our first date! I made him cry. I feel bad! But what the heck...propose before I even know your last name, before I even eat my bagel you bought me for breakfast?! WHOA Nelly!

And one last thing...I would've advised to run very far from the sword man! Anyone that tells you he can chase you down with long, large, sharp weapons in hand should be feared! :)

LOl :0 I know this is an older post BUT I just have to leave a comment! I was just talking with my mom the other day about this! We went over all the crazy dates I went on. For some reason it was hard for me to say no and so I went on some pretty wierd dates. If you ever want to hear some funny date stories let me know! I have a few good ones! If I can find my pictures I will post them on my blog

I didn't date this guy, because he wasn't a member but he wanted to date me. We did go out once but as friends. Later I found out he turn "gay", So my brother now teases me that I turn him gay! But most of the other guys I dated were kind of normal.
