Feelin' Crafty

Nutter Stuff had a crafty post last Friday featuring Grace Violet and I saw these clips and dress. I immediately fell in love and am now blog-stalking her. Love it, love it, love it! She makes everything look so easy and simple, and so far, it has been.

Here are the hair clips I made for Megan.
Ok, and myself. I won't lie.
I've been wearing them, too. They are just so cool. And I am totally going to make more.
I'm thinking Christmas presents here.

Megan loves them!

Now the pillowcase dress.
I was in such a hurry to find a pillow to try this out with
that I didn't notice on the packaging that it said, "Reversible" on it.
So the back of the dress isn't the same fabric as the front, but Megan doesn't care.

I added buttons on the front because I was lazy and didn't want to change the thread on my machine. When I decided the visible stark whiteness was unattractive after all and I should have just gotten my lazy butt up and grabbed a darker thread,
I thought I'd just go with buttons and hide the white thread.

I also added the little belt-like feature to cinch it a little more in the back, keep it from looking huge on her. I could have just taken it in a little more, but I thought this would be better because it would maybe make it look like I meant to have a different fabric on the back.

seriously people, go to the site, there's a link in the blog. It's so easy. If I can do it, anyone can.

The real problem is that we as people think that we can not do something as being crafty, but what it really comes down to what we are really trying to say is, "I am lazy." Ok, that's me anyway. I sewed a quilt and it actually turned out and Lindsay Cannon was impressed. I am not crafty, but I actually did it. I took the time to do it. I am just lazy.

The dress is stinking cute and I still love her hair cut. It is just too cute. Get ready to start interviewing the boys. JK

Wow! Great job! I can't wait for GInny to get bigger so I can make her cute stuff. (I don't want to spend the time now because I will blink and she will get too big to wear it!)
