Green Eggs and Ham--Megan Style

Megan has been reading everything in sight. I think she would read nutritional information labels if I offered them to her. She reads over my shoulder, she reads her own bedtime story (or at least part of it), she reads to Jeremy and Emma and anyone who is willing to sit and listen. She is constantly looking at words and sounding them out. And if she doesn't pronounce the right sound for a particular letter, like long a verses short a, she usually still gets the word right after sounding out the rest of the letters. I am so impressed with her and so proud of her. She has worked really hard to be able to read. This is something that she's wanted for a very long time and she is finally able to really see her hard work pay off. In the video I think she's a little nervous because of the camera, but you'll get the idea.

I cannot believe how good she is doing! I can't believe she is only a few months older than Emma (who is showing very little interest in learning how to read, because she can just have her older brother read whatever she wants to her). I would be BEAMING with pride as a parent - reading is a HUGE deal to me and I will never forget the excitement of seeing Jaxson go through that beginning stage - SO FUN!
