Love List #2

Warm weather. Summer. Feeling the heat that radiates from the sun.

Not that I've experienced any in the last month, but that is one thing that I love. A lot. I don't like being cold and last Saturday I realized that I have been in cold cities, as in cities that get snow or a lot of snow, since 1997.

That's over a decade of having to live with the cold, wet snow that I hate.

I love feeling the sun warm my hair. I love to feel the sunshine soak into my clothing and settle on my shoulders and back. I love thinking back to my high school marching band days and thinking about how each day was wonderfully hot and how in my sophomore year I actually got a tan. It was probably my first one ever, and nearly my only one.

I can't wait for summer. I love summer. Not only is my birthday during the summer, but one of my favorite holidays (4th of July) is during the summer, the best movies often come out in the summer, and I don't have to bundle the kids or myself up before going outside. Also, I don't have to worry about cold hands or cold feet or heating bills.

In the summer, marshmallows are for roasting with graham crackers and chocolate, not for a drink that only warms me while I'm drinking it.

In the summer I can wear flip flops.

In the summer I get to see my parents and siblings for more that just a couple days.

In the summer there's a greater chance I'll get to see some of the friends I grew up with.

In the summer there are flowers.

In the summer I drink more Gatorade.

In the summer I can go to the beach and play in the sand.

I love summer.

Amen! I hate the cold weather and love the beach. Can't wait to work in the flower beds and wash my car in the driveway and sip lemonade while watching the birds dance in the evening sky.

Hugs

Meee tooo!!!

I remember one summer in my senior year in high school. Our school got out late so it was like the second week of June, our last week. It was so warm, record-warm, and many of us hung out on the lawn during our breaks from class.

I can still remember the way the warm sun tingled on my skin on that particular day. The feeling of satisfaction of having completed (or nearly) a major life milestone and being on the brink of a new life.

That early summer sun seemed to hold all the hope and promise of my future. For some reason, I still summer the same way. Like a gift.

I agree, here, here, and amen! I'd like to join that club, please. Although, I do try to get a tan every summer if I can. Even if it means going somewhere else to do it.

I'm a summer girl myself. And if I were counting, I'd say I've been living in a cold, icky winter weather state for a decade and a half. Actually, more since it's technically been seventeen years since I moved to Utah from Phoenix.

Nice thoughts.

Ah, summer! Or spring! Or anything warm! 6 more weeks, I guess.

Yes! I love sunny days, too. I will never be a cold weather person. I grew up in the tropics so that migh explain that.

I love your Love List idea.
