I Won!

I won! I'm so excited! Do you remember me blogging and FB and actually opening a Twitter account (you probably didn't know that last one) just so I could get more entries in the contest for the free copy of Love Your Body by Brooke Parker? Well, I did all those things and more to win this book. And I did!

I'll let y'all know how it is when I get it. I'm sure it will be great. One of the things I had to do for entries in the contest was read all the blogs that were reviewing it and leave comments on the blog. All the reviews raved about the book and how helpful it was.

I love that it is a diet free approach to eating. It isn't starve yourself, or eat only x times a day, or eat only such and such. I can't wait for this book to arrive in my mailbox!

Book Review, Love Your Body

A friend of mine reviewed a book called Love Your Body. I read her post today and the book sounds like an excellent read for anyone who has a hard time getting on the scale or eating healthy. It isn't a diet book, in fact, it's subtitle is A Diet Free Approach to Balanced Eating.

Here's the link to my friend's review. I'd do my own, but I don't have a copy of the book yet. Still, it looked like such a good book when most of us are starting to think weight loss resolutions or swimsuit season (not that it gets warm enough here in Cleveland for swimsuits, even in July).

Go check it out! There's even a contest to win a free copy of the book!

Writing Contest!

I just found out from one of my writing buddies that there is an awesome contest going on at Kidlit.com. The contest is one where you send only the first 500 words of your manuscript, so not a lot of pressure--yet:)

If you're interested (and if you're part of the Seven Quills or another writing group, I hope you are) check it out here:

Jeoparody Post Winners!

It was really hard picking the two winners from the Motherhood Jeopardy post. There was lots of encouragement and so many good answers. Whether I could use them, will use them, have already been using them, or won't be using them, I appreciate them. And a special thank you to everyone who said I should hunker down and write. It made me smile and breathe a bit easier.

I love being told to go off and write. I need to be told it more often.

The two winners I picked are . . . . . .

Kristine, because she has a sense of humor when it comes to motherhood and can joke about straitjackets and muzzles. In my opinion, mothers who absolutely cannot joke about those two items are hiding their frustrations and lying.

And . . . . . . .

First time commenter Juggling Motherhood because she gave a great tip I hope to use. I loved her idea of creating a fort for the kids to play in while I cook dinner. I'm not the best fort builder, but I am willing to improve my skills.

Thank you and be sure to email me at ksbimagine at yahoo.com with your address so I can mail you some candy that I won't let my kids eat, but will stuff into my face as soon as their little backs are turned and out of chocolate-smelling range.

Chili Cook Off!

Our ward had a Halloween party tonight and there was a chili cook off. There were three judges and each judge picked their favorite batch. Mine was one of the winners! I was so excited and it really made my night, which had been horrid before that. I got a fun apron that said I won. Here it is----->

The only other food related contest I've won was a brownie baking contest in college between me and one of my roomies who thought homemade brownies were better than box brownies. Please! There was no way she'd win that. So obviously I won that. But at the Church cook off there were 14 different chilies that were contesting.

So my absolutely horrible day full of frustration and tears ended on a great note. It helped that another Texan was the judge that picked mine:)

***ok, I just realized that you can't see where it says I won, but it is at the bottom of the apron, written on the edge.***
